(541 posts)She is incapable of being humiliated. That's her only strength. She wallows in the rotten tomatoes that people throw at her.

(123,741 posts)That's why I try to stick to the original title and also identify the source providing the video in the title of the thread. It also makes it easier to search for a particular thread when using actual title rather than something "creative."
Also, changing the title of a video isn't much different than cropping or altering a photograph. Someone CHOSE those words for the
video title so who am I to change someone else's work product? That being said, I will occasionally alter a title to include identifying information or the title is too long to fit on the subject line.
From my perspective I view things as follows: A reputable news organization will usually avoid the words that irritate you since they don't want to be associated with yellow journalism. Opinion analysts are the most egregious with clickbait titles, but it's the clickbait titles and thumbnails with brief captions that attract new viewers to the videos. Those analysts are not going to change their marketing strategy.
If the titles to videos are getting you that irritated, then you probably need to step away from your device. The videos are provided to be informative or perhaps share some humor. If you can get past the clickbait titles, there may be some interesting content in the videos.
