my senior year. I bought one pair of jeans and wore them on the first day of school. Never again, it was actually uncomfortable. They still weren't in the workplace until years later.

Now, I only own one dress, one skirt and one blouse. Jeans and sweats for this retiree.

But there were a lot of rules around the pantsuit, had to have matching colors and material etc.
Jeans were FORBIDDEN.

Right jeans are not that comfortable.

I live in leggings and sweaters.

We had to kneel on the floor and if our skirts didn't touch the ground we got sent home.

We outsmarted the principal because we wore longer skirts but as soon as we
left the house in morning at the bus stop we rolled up the waistband to get the skirts nice and short.

And when we got off the bus coming home from school we let down our skirts so our parents didn't see
how short the skirts were.

If we got called into the principal's office with the report of a short skirt we just rolled the skirt waistband down.
Went to the principal's office looking all innocent.

Our principal was such a godamn dufus.

I swear I had to lift my blouse when I got home so she could check for roll marks! How did she know about this? She worked at a Catholic school for a while! 😂

And wasn't that right around the time mini skirts came out? So yeah, waistband check!

Oh yes mini skirts were all the rage.

The shorter the better.
When we bent over you could see our underwear.
We just loved it.

I used to wear them when I was young because I had great legs.
But then in my 50's I just started wearing pants and leggings all the time.

More comfortable.

I had a job where I sat all day long, and skirts were not comfortable.

I guess the GOP clothing police will put me in jail.
That is OK. I am going to go kicking and screaming.

i was halfway through my sophomore year in high school when they changed the dress code. NEVER once did i wear a dress or a skirt to school after that. i'm not saying it never happens and later on I did wear them for work, but less and less as time wore on. So uncomfortable.

So I had to keep making sure my skirt was pulled down over my knees.

And I sat all day long in this way and panty hose just cut into me and pressed on my stomach.

So I just went to pants.

I can’t justify paying mega bucks for a dress I’ll wear once to a wedding but it’s really expected for the mother of the bride. Nice dress and they swoon. No dress and you’re judged.
You’ll look marvelous! Good luck.

Yes I am finding some things that look nice.
Some with dressy flowing pants.

But I am going to try some dresses on.

God I have not worn panty hose in ages.

Yes for the mother of the bride I am going to have to bite the bullet
and get something nice.
