forego 10% of her income paid back to her employer? I don't think so.

As her employer the church owes her a proper wage for the work she does. They don't get a pass on that. They don't get to hold back her wages either.

Judge won't like this one bit.

My Dad was a Presbyterian minister for 60 years. Any church has the same obligations under law. A fair wage for staff is not conditional on participation in the faith practices.

Those who can't afford to tithe are supposed to benefit from those who do by being able to go to a place of worship that is well-funded.
