A major Republican fundraiser named Eric Levine has come out swinging against Donald Trump, claiming in a recent interview with Politico that Trump is a "cancer" that has the potential to "destroy the Party." More and more establishment and big money Republicans have come out against Donald Trump in recent weeks, but that could easily backfire on the Republican Party. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains what's happening.

Politico published a couple of interviews this week with high profile mega fundraisers for the Republican party, and none of them had anything kind to say about Donald Trump. In fact, it seems like most of them want Donald Trump to get the hell out of the party forever. One of the donors, they spoke to a man by the name of Eric Levine. Levine, excuse me, had this to say, this is probably the most powerful thing from that Politico piece. He is a metastasizing cancer who if he has not stopped, is going to destroy the party. Donald Trump is a loser. He is the first president since Hoover to lose the house, the Senate, and the presidency in a single term because of him. Chuck Schumer is the le is the leader, Schumer, and the progressive agenda is threatening to take over the country. And he is probably the only Republican in the country, if not the only person in the country who can't beat Joe Biden.
Okay. You know, I, I agree with a lot of the things you said and I disagree with a lot of the things you said. The progressive agenda is taking over the country. Oh, we should be so lucky. Like this country would be an awesome place if the progressive agenda was taking over and we had, you know, protection of the environment, removal of toxins from our food and water, universal healthcare, universal debt-free college, universal pre-k like that, that would be a good country. Paid sick leave, maternity leave, paternity leave. We need those things. Labor unions, that's the progressive agenda and it's a good agenda. In fact, the last time this country was truly prosperous from the bottom up was when we had a progressive agenda with the New Deal. So shut the hell up. You wealthy piece of crap. Um, about the metastasizing cancer thing, you're right about that.
And I like the way he phrased it. So after calling you out for being a right wing hack, I'll, I'll praise you for this part because you didn't say like so many other have that Trump is the problem with the Republican party. You admitted that he is this cancer that has grown from within and perhaps a cancer brought on by our own bad habits or their own bad habits in the Republican party. You know, you didn't think all those years of doing those horrible things we're gonna have any negative effects for you. But then you find out, uhoh, we've got this cancer. That's what Donald Trump is. And I do like again, that Levine didn't say, if we get rid of Trump, we fix everything and Trump's the only problem we have. Like no, he is, he's a cancer that has grown for sure, but we kinda also need to figure out why the cancer was growing in the first place, right? We need to get to the root causes of that. Um, so I 100% agree with that. Um, and then there was another donor who told Politico this or fundraiser, it's a five alarm fire and there's nobody coming to put it out. Well, that's also true. It is a five alarm fire. Nobody's
Coming, coming to put it out because y'all just let him do what he's doing. But at the same time, as I've said multiple times in the past week, when you have all of these establishment types, when you have the big money Republicans all coming out attacking Trump, which this week we've seen, uh, Americans for Prosperity, you know, part of the Koch network club for growth. We have seen other donors abandon him. Now we've got the fundraisers turning against him that bolsters Trump's claims, that he is the outsider, that he is not part of the establishment, and that the establishment is out to get him so they can continue screwing you over.
