Yah, it's far fetched* but it should illustrate how Ukraine's current mindset came to be. Putin has invaded Ukraine, period. That cannot ever be ignored, nor should it be rewarded by any sort of capitulation or concession. How long has Israel been at war over keeping their lands, for that matter? I think they have fought 7 or 8 wars to preserve occupied/invaded territory since they were created, and I doubt highly that most people think they should compromise. If you look at history, a compromise has never been on the table when somebody invades another nation, and it's insane to think Ukraine will be ok with it now.

*Wondering how all the Florida Man types would respond is quite the mind exercise too!

It's hard to see how putin can retreat militarily or diplomatically at this point. I don't think that means that the Ukrainian supporters should therefore offer a compromise by giving up Ukrainian assets, including the Crimea.

We may have to pry the nukes out of his cold, dead hands.
