It's reminiscent of the "Backwards B" McCain Supporter:

A John McCain campaign volunteer made up a story of being robbed, pinned to the ground and having the letter "B" scratched on her face in a politically inspired attack, police said Friday.

(4,287 posts)Lying Increasingly Egregiously Since 1996
I will provisionally assume that they immediately started lying egregiously and did not have to ramp up to that behavior. It's always seemed to be their core purpose.
However, it would be interesting to know what their first lie actually was. Any ideas? I'm guessing it would have been about one of the Clintons.

(244,974 posts)I'm not even sure what channel it's on here, my only experience with it was a couple of years ago at my dentist's office. I've seen the same dentist since the ''80s, she's really excellent and has had my entire extended family as patients. I also know that she's "one of us," I just happened to have an appointment with her on 9/11 - of all days! - and we've talked about politics ever since.
So you can imagine my surprise when I walked into her waiting room and saw Fox "News" playing there on the TV! Her assistant came in with the remote and changed it, apologized and said that the previous patient, an elderly lady, had requested it!
But what shocked me was what passed for "news" - I only saw it for a couple of minutes, but what they were "reporting" on even at that late date was Hillary's emails!

(4,287 posts)I have watched clips from it occasionally, but that is more just to see if they have even remotely changed. They haven't. It's painful to watch their constant distortion of many things that would count as part of what most would conceive of as objective reality; climate change, the effect of easy availability of semi-automatic rifles, etc.
Unfortunately, many public places (gas stations, restaurants, car dealerships, etc.) have it on in the background.
It's truly worthless as a source of news. I would not give a pass to anyone who has left Fox either: they knew what the place was about when they worked there.
9/11 would definitely cause one to talk politics. It's good you have a political confidant in your dentist. I was buying guitar strings from the only music store in town - they went out of business: however, they are probably celebrating the recent SC decisions, so I'm not too sad.
It's late. Have a good night!

(244,974 posts)And when it comes to my car dealership, I bring my car back there for anything I need done, so I've spent time in their waiting room. And I never know what's going to be on the TV, depends on who's waiting, could be anything from a cooking show to The Rifleman to Fox, depends on who was last there. I usually change it to MSNBC since that's what I watch if I'm home in the late afternoon.
And one time the woman in Service who I always deal with came in (she's been my Service Rep since I first bought my Pontiac there back in 2003) and Mike Pence just happened to be on the TV. Without missing a beat, she said "I hate him!" So I learned that she's "one of us," too! LOL. So when I go in now she likes to talk politics with me as well...
