If anyone should be able to take advantage of the bigotry and hate of a billionaire it should be Bernie Sanders. I hope he changes his approach of lecturing to college freshman and find a way to talk directly to the audience of dropouts and ill informed poor that support Trump. this is a softball that if he doesn't turn it and do more to take advantage to reach these people it is a huge opportunity lost. Take the gloves off and fight

Bernie has been so good at wading through the muck and steering the conversation back to the real problem, which is the economic class war that has been waged against the poor and middle class for years..

...I think it is wrong to minimize that people are worried about terrorist shootings in public places. This is a big part of the Muslim-phobia.

People aren't worried that Muslims are taking their jobs, responsible for people's economic woes, etc.

To the extent that the fear of a terrorist incident is a distraction from some of the endemic problems he usually talks about (despite the statistical improbability of people being injured in a terrorist attack, and the far greater chance that you will be "injured" by our economic system), he has a point.

But that doesn't mean that there are not also legitimate concerns about terrorism and about guns, and it would be wrong to merely talk about scapegoating without making clear his concern about these other issues which are real as well.

I think he was saying that people are afraid of what is to be in the future. Their futures and their kids futures and that they are angry in general and that anger should not be directed towards Muslims and immigrants.

I also think terrorism is one of the direct results of economic oppression and the violent acts that are committed is also out of fear and frustration about the future. So no, it should not be minimized. IMO it's what fear- out of control- results in.

Senator Sanders got to the root of it all and he was genuine about it. You can see that he's not just paying lip service. He said it so it all makes sense and is easy to understand and the more that message comes out- the more his support will grow.
