Building a Messiah: How Trumpism Plans to Outlive Trump
How a billionaire cabal is exploiting evangelicals to advance their mission

Yesterday, I wrote about the long game a transnational network is playing to enshrine a permanent white Christian nationalist aristocracy both in the United States and abroad. Today, we turn to how this cabal is exploiting messianic fervor to advance its mission.
At an Easter event on Wednesday, Paula White-Cain, a pastor and televangelist whom Trump has anointed as his spiritual consigliere, stood before a room of believers and declared that Trumps suffering mirrored that of Jesus Christ. She spoke of betrayal, persecution, and sacrifice and suggested that Trump had paid the price, echoing the central narrative of Christianity itself.
It was not subtle, it was not metaphor, and it was not accidental. During Holy Week, when Christians mark the Passion and resurrection of their savior, White told Trump, Jesus taught so many lessons through his death, burial and resurrection. He showed us great leadership, great transformation requires great sacrifice. And Mr President, no one has paid the price like you have paid the price. It almost cost you your life. You were betrayed and arrested and falsely accused. Its a familiar pattern that our lord and savior showed us.
In turn, Trump did not dispute the parallels between himself and Jesus. On Palm Sunday, Jesus entered Jerusalem as crowds welcomed him with praise honoring him as king, he said. They call me king now. Can you believe it?
