Johnson calls potential layoffs 'a regrettable situation that the president does not want'

(The Hill) Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) said the Trump administration’s plan to lay off thousands of federal workers is “regrettable,” but the fault is with Democrats who won’t agree to the Republicans’ proposal to reopen the government.

In an interview on NBC News’s “Meet the Press,” host Kristen Welker pressed Johnson on the administration’s unprecedented plan to lay off thousands of federal workers, noting it’s “never been done before in a shutdown.”

“We haven’t seen the details yet about what’s happening,” Johnson told Welker, when asked if he supports “laying off thousands of federal workers as a part of this shutdown.”

If the president didn’t want layoffs, all he has to do is not layoff workers!

Pick up a Bible and read that part too. Impervious imbecile. If you truly knew The Word, you’d know. Enjoy your incorrectness. While you may! Period.

I despise him even more than Newt or Tom DeLay or any of the other crooked types who were "leaders" of the House.

He makes me want to puke.

... is the slightest mention of the actual point of dispute, which is centered around an extension of Affordable Care Act premium tax credits, which Republicans don't want to allow.
So, in typical fashion, Republicans are lying through their teeth... again. What obscenely excremental people they are, hiding behind claims of "I'M MORE CHRISTIAN THAN YOU ARE!" to justify their malignant cruelty. They're the furthest thing from Christian it is possible to be without growing horns and a tail. That goes double for you, "Moses" Mike.
