The politicizing of conservative Christianity is driven by hatred, cruelty, insensitivity and inhumanity

https://signalpress.blogspot.com/2025/07/the-politicizing-of-american.html

My point here is not to evangelize. It is to point out the blatant, uncontrolled hypocrisy of those who claim that MAGA Trumpism has anything to do with Christianity. Charlie Kirk and Turning Point, who have been at this for about eight years now, have made it very clear that they submit to no Christian authority, but they have created their own pseudo-Christian theology and doctrine, and are using that to support this cult. Conservative Evangelicals are going to pay dearly for this, apparently many pastors and leaders are either unable or unwilling to stop it, and are blind to the fact that this is a movement that is quite anti-Christ in its approach. Some of their church members do see it for what it is, and they are taking the back door out. Trump doesn't have the emotional or psychological ability to show submission to Jesus or to acknowledge his need for repentance. And that, according to correctly interpreted scripture, makes him an anti-Christ.

I didn't say The Antichrist. All of that involves more error in interpreting the Bible than there is space here to cover. I said, an anti-Christ, which the apostle John identifies in his church epistle, I John 4:1-3, and says that the definition of anti-Christ is denying that Jesus is Christ. He says that many of those have gone out into the world. Trump's ego makes it impossible for him to acknowledge Jesus as Christ.

Christianity should not be identified by, or controlled by any politics. It should be the salt and light in culture and society that is its identified mission and purpose. If you are in a church where the pastor is a Trumper, and that gets mentioned in gatherings, then that is a sign that the congregation is apostate, and it is time for you to get out of there. There are plenty of churches and pastors who have not bowed the knee.

Trump's MAGA cult has distinguished themselves clearly by those they hate, and by the cruelty, insensitivity and inhumanity they promote and advocate as a means of handling and controlling those who are the objects of their hate. There is nothing of Christian theology or doctrine in that kind of hatred. They are reflecting the attitude of their leader, Trump, who is yet another intruder bringing licentiousness to the church, using its influence, but denying his own need for repentance, a core doctrine of the Christian faith.

The longer we insist on not offending people by pointing out the blatant inconsistencies and impossible paradoxes of their "faith", the further down the sewer the species slides. Shoved on our way down by our own hands, too 'polite' to corect the objectively wong thinking that would suggest otherwise.

There are no gods. Not many, not one...just none. Unless you are a variety of pantheist, you too are already an atheist in all but one chosen flavor. There is virtually zero chance that any single religion is 'true' (at least as they are packaged and sold to the public) and a startlingly high probability that they are ALL false.

Religion was a foundational part of evolution for Homo Sapiens to develop and create society. It is literally right up their with language, recording (and recalling on media not orally) history, and opposable thumbs for dexterity over ferocity. Why we collectively participate in the propagation of ancient myths and rituals and outright fabrications still is one of the seeds of our eventual demise.

We can either choose to be honest and survive or polite and endangered and likely extinct eventually. 99% of ALL LIFEFORMS to EVER exist are extinct now. Homo Sapiens is the first that we know of that has evolved the ability to consider this and act to avoid the fate that awaits the rest - even Orcas, Dolphins and other primates can't come close to our collective ability to affect change - IF we pursue it and commit to the future of our existence for millenia instead of the compiling of junk for our temporary possession over a few decades.

Religion offers people the convenience of an external excuse - either for or against them and their desires or wishes. It is as if humanity invented an energ source to replace food that would allow you to either fast or feast without regard to consequences. If we eat too much or too little food in our physical reality that causes consequences; yet in our spirtual lives - we can freely consume copious amounts of mental poison and be socially rewarded for it with undue acceptance and even kudos.

Society was born from the ability to conceive things outside ourselves. Society will die if it fails to evolve beyond that first step.

What we are seeing is its hijacking because of the collective insecurity of people that is caused by ignorance. At one end is the high value placed on values and their practice, rather than the necessary orthodoxy of belief in the identify of god or a savior. At the other end is a worldview driven by conspiracy theories and imaginary threats. What institutions of human society moderate that?

For us, in this day and age, it isn't a question of whether or not there is a God or gods, it's pretty obvious the MAGA cult doesn't care about that finer point, for them, it's ideology that they follow which gives them the sense of being those chosen to rule the world and exploit its resources for their own comfort. And a democratic republic doesn't work to achieve those goals. So to save what we've had and move forward, if that's still possible, everyone who doesn't follow that ideological philosophy, whether they believe in the existence of God, gods or not, are allies in the fight to stay free.
