In summer 2020, Politico reported that Saguaro Strategies, a media and consulting firm, heavily edited Zients's Wikipedia article as he became more prominent in the Joe Biden 2020 presidential campaign. For example, Zients had advocated for the Trans-Pacific Partnership, which faced left-wing opposition, but the edit gave Zients's argument that it was "the most progressive trade agreement there’s ever been." It eliminated an Obama official's comment that he thought Zients was a Republican.[36]
So. Zients, who replaced Chief of Staff Ron Klain for Biden mid-term, is a person that Obama thought was a Republican, from his career and resume as an overt capitalist. An over-the-top capitalist Republican. Advising Biden, every day. Perhaps the antithesis of what we might consider a representative of a Democratic administration.
What's the back story here? This could explain many things that many people wonder about Biden,
We can love Joe and still wonder about the focus of fiscal policy over issues important in other communities, other populations. And we can wonder about the stalled or failed attempts to hold billionaires responsible for crimes.
