Longtime Epstein assistant denies knowledge of his crimes to House Oversight Committee

Lesley Groff, Jeffrey Epstein’s longtime assistant, denied knowledge of her former boss’s crimes in her transcribed interview with the House Oversight Committee on Tuesday, the latest witness to testify in the panel’s sprawling Epstein investigation. “I never saw anything improper,” Groff told members of the committee, a source familiar with the matter told MS NOW.

Groff, who worked for Epstein for nearly 20 years until he was arrested in 2019 on sex trafficking charges, began her testimony before the Republican-led committee around 10 a.m. ET.

Rep. Stephen Lynch, D-Mass., told reporters during a break that Groff denied that she and Epstein were close, and that her characterization of their relationship was “highly inconsistent.”. “He was a registered sex offender, and she arranged young women for massages with a registered sex offender, and I just question whether … she can rightfully and truthfully maintain that she saw nothing improper in that,” he said.

Groff told lawmakers that she was not aware that some of the women she arranged to massage Epstein were minors, according to Lynch. “There are young women who say she knew, and that they told her that [they were] under age, and then she maintains that she was not fully aware of that,” he said.

... along with several other women in his plea deal with Epstein.

This quote is from Politico, in a story entitled "The Women Who Enabled Jeffrey Epstein" (published 5/14/2021)

Groff, 54, worked as Epstein’s executive assistant in Manhattan when she was in her 30s. According to court documents filed in a 2019 lawsuit by victim Jennifer Araoz, Groff was critical in facilitating Epstein’s sexual abuse. She looked after Epstein’s victims, booked their travel and made sure they maintained “rules of behavior,” according to another lawsuit. In a statement to POLITICO, Groff’s lawyer said she “never witnessed anything improper or illegal” while working for Epstein and that she has “always maintained her innocence” in the Araoz case.

Since Lesley Groff worked in the Manhattan office since around 1999 or 2000, she must have interacted with Chump, or at least conveyed messages and appointments for him. Groff would have worked closely with Ghislaine Maxwell in the same office for a few years. There's a lot she's not telling us. Probably her lawyer is telling her not to reveal anything.
