Iranian military's joint command announces 'suspension' of attacks on Israel

The Iranian military's joint command said on Monday it was suspending its offensive operations against Israel after both countries exchanged fire in their first attacks since the US struck a ceasefire with Tehran two months ago. The escalation threatened to drag the Middle East back into a full-scale war.

The joint command said that if Israel or its supporters carried out any further "aggression and hostile acts," including in southern Lebanon, then "much more severe and crushing measures than before will follow.". Israel launched airstrikes into central and western Iran early on Monday in response to missiles fired from Tehran, the first such barrage since an April ceasefire took hold in the Middle East war.

In his first comments since Iran and Israel traded fresh strikes, US President Donald Trump wrote online: "Israel and Iran must immediately stop 'shooting.'" Trump's post on Truth Social comes after Iran held the US responsible for the resumption of fighting with Israel, reasoning that Israel's actions "cannot be separated" from US policy.

"Without a doubt, as I said, the actions of the Zionist regime in the region cannot be separated from US policies," foreign ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei said at a press conference in Tehran. "No one believes that the Zionist regime would carry out any action without prior coordination and cooperation with the United States," he added as Israel warned a third barrage of missiles was incoming from Iran on Monday.

Iran acts like they are in control.

Where the hell is the Almighty shithole?

Unfortunately, it seems like Iran has the upper hand.

I would think that Iran's putting a pause to attacking Israel is more likely that some in Iran Regular Military are wanting a pause because, getting their missiles smoked in flight and losing missile crews killed while the IRCG, looking for any reason to take shots at anything in the Middle East to keep face.

I don't stand with the murderous Iranian regime that recently killed up to 30,000 of their own civilians for just protesting.

... People need to learn how to separate the Iranian people from the religious nuts who run Iran, the US and Israel.

The Ayatollahs and Netanyahu represent their people needs and desires no more than TACO represents the American people.

Iran first fired missiles directly at Israeli territory on April 13, 2024, launching a barrage of around 300 drones and missiles.Since that initial attack, the scale and frequency of Iranian missile fire have varied dramatically across multiple escalations:

April 2024 (First Attack): Approximately 300 projectiles (a mix of ballistic/cruise missiles and drones) were launched on April 13, 2024.

October 2024: Iran fired approximately 180-200 ballistic missiles at Israel during Operation True Promise II.

The 2025 Twelve-Day War: From June 13 to June 24, 2025, Iran launched over 500 ballistic missiles and hundreds of drones directly into Israel.

February–April 2026 Conflict: During this multi-month intense phase of the U.S./Israel war with Iran, Iran fired roughly 400 to 650 ballistic missiles. According to some global tracking data, over 470 distinct missile barrages were fired from Iran between February 28 and an early April 2026 ceasefire.
