MAGA says the SAVE America Act is crucial. A new poll shows Americans don't agree

Supporters of the bill will often point to how Americans overwhelmingly support requiring people to show ID to vote. And the new CBS News-YouGov poll shows 80% support that.

The crux of the “SAVE America Act” is actually different, though; it’s requiring people to provide proof of citizenship to register to vote. Again, support for that is quite strong, at 66% — roughly two-thirds of Americans.

But when the poll asked about the actual piece of legislation, formerly known as the SAVE Act, support wasn’t anywhere close to those numbers. In fact, just 28% supported it, while 31% opposed it.

Even inside the GOP, just 60% said they supported the legislation. Another 6% opposed it, while 34% said they weren’t sure.

This is important because MAGA keep claiming that 80% support the SAVE Act. They don't. High numbers support some kind of voter ID, but not the Save Act -- which requires a proof of citizenship millions don't have.

You have to prove who you are TO REGISTER TO VOTE.
Unless it's same day registration, why the need to provide ID a second time?

But other than disenfranching millions of married women, the most egregious thing about this abomination is the elimination of mail-in voting. SOMETHING THAT DOTARD HIMSELF DOES!!!

I've been voting by mail for decades. The process works perfectly fine. The only reason to eliminate it is to STOP millions from standing on 8,10,12 hour lines to vote. If this passes, the Repukes will eliminate thousands of polling places, particularly in blue areas, in order to reduce turnout. Reducing turnout ALWAYS benefits the Reich Wing.

The so-called "SAVE" act is nothing more than 'saving" the ass of a child RAPIST and TRAITOR.
