Gallego to headline Montana Democrats event

Sen. Ruben Gallego (D-Ariz.) is set to headline a Democratic Party event in Montana next month amid growing 2028 chatter.
Gallego will deliver the keynote address at the Montana Democrats’ annual Mansfield Metcalf Dinner on Mar. 7, the party announced on Monday.
Gallego, who served five terms in the House before heading to the Senate, hasn’t made a formal decision on whether he will mount a presidential bid in 2028. But his recent visit to states like Nevada, an early presidential nominating state for Democrats, and Montana add fuel to speculation that the rising Democratic star could be laying the groundwork.
Gallego’s 2024 win in Arizona was seen as a bright spot for Democrats in an otherwise dismal election year, given his appeal to Hispanic and working class voters in a state that voted for Trump by over 5 points, and some of the senator’s allies are floating him as a strong potential contender for the White House.
