Israel Says Gaza Truce Resumes After Deadly Clashes With Hamas

Source: Bloomberg News

"Israel said it had resumed a truce with Hamas in Gaza after heavy fighting over the weekend, with the sides accusing each other of breaching a deal brokered by US President Donald Trump.

Around 9:30 p.m. Israel time on Sunday, the Israel Defense Forces said it had “begun renewed enforcement of the ceasefire” and warned it would “respond firmly to any violation.”

Israel launched strikes against Hamas in Gaza and suspended aid shipments on Sunday after blaming the Iran-backed militant group for an ambush that killed two soldiers in the southern part of the strip. The IDF said it responded by hitting weapons-storage facilities and other sites. It also said it dismantled several kilometers of underground tunnels.

At least some aid supplies have now resumed, though the key border crossing of Rafah remains shut."

And a dodge.

The truce is with Hamas. But the attackers were a Hamas splinter group, or maybe a clan or some other group. So Hamas didn't break the truce.

And, you know, since the truce is with Hamas, if one of those groups goes and kills IDF folk, well, so what? Who's the truce with? Not those groups! But with Hamas! So Israel can't really retaliate against any Palestinians because, well, Hamas represents all Palestinians. (Even those it executes.)

The logic is tortured, but I've seen logic brought back from being tortured to death numerous times by artificial means and still propped up and celebrated as rock solid and impeccable by believers and supporters or whatever.
