The White House on Friday joined Bluesky, the social media platform of choice of many in the left-leaning online world.
In its inaugural post, the White House account offered a sizzle reel of the administration's memes, trolls and messages from President Donald Trump's nine months since returning to office. The post appeared aimed at tweaking liberals who aren't fans of the Republican president.
The first post included mentions of the administration's executive order renaming the Gulf of Mexico, a doctored image of Democratic House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries adorned in a sombrero with a faux mustache, and stream of photos and video from other big moments in the early going of Trump's second term.
"What's up, Bluesky?" the White House said in a message accompanying the video. "We thought you might've missed some of our greatest hits, so we put this together for you. Can't wait to spend more quality time together!"

Editing to add that you should block them, and block the other Trump thugocracy agencies joining to troll.
The White House Bluesky account is @whitehouse-47.bsky.social. But before you block them, you can go through the thug's agencies already reposted by the White House from all their new Bluesky accounts and block those.
EDITING to add that WH account has already been blocked by over 46,000 Bluesky accounts.

(663 posts)Including govt accounts under Republican control?
An astronomy club Im in set up an account to communicate with our members
about 75 people. About 20-25 of our members lost their accounts within just a few days.
They run a tight ship over there, so Im surprised Trump officials could even get accounts.

(3,877 posts)But they are very generous with tools to help their users mute or block or (my fave) set filters to rule out certain keywords.
Now I only see posts about AI, crypto, or solicitations from sex workers if someone I follow writes about them. I set the filters on high to block any offensive content and slurs. Then I don't have to individually mute or block. Saves me a ton of time.
Plus there's a handy feature I turned on that shows the categories of major donors to all the members of Congress. Helps me see their influences.
They do remove accounts from bad actors. But not those operating within the rules.

(3,877 posts)usernames in a list.
I don't consider that secure at all.
I decided to mute the account and those it follows rather than block. There's no list of those as far as I know.
