Capitol Police called to investigate swastika in GOP congressional office

Source: Politico

U.S. Capitol Police were called about an American flag altered to include a swastika and displayed inside the office of Rep. Dave Taylor (R-Ohio), his spokesperson said.

POLITICO obtained an image taken during a virtual meeting that shows the flag pinned to what appears to be a cubicle wall behind Angelo Elia, one of Taylor’s staffers. Alongside the flag — with altered red and white lines in the shape of a swastika — are pinned images, including a pocket Constitution and a congressional calendar. It is unclear what role, if any, Elia had in the incident. He did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

“I am aware of an image that appears to depict a vile and deeply inappropriate symbol near an employee in my office,” Taylor said in a statement. “The content of that image does not reflect the values or standards of this office, my staff, or myself, and I condemn it in the strongest terms.”

Taylor said he “immediately” directed a thorough investigation alongside the Capitol Police, adding, “No further comment will be provided until it has been completed.”

I liked Cleveland just fine.
I found the people in central Ohio- for the most part- to be the most insufferable assholes on the planet. With the exception of about 5 people, everyone I became friends with were transplants.
That map is an indicator of the mentality I couldn’t stand.

This is clearly OK behavior in that office environment. They are openly unabashed Nazis.

walking around his office? Does EVERYONE who works for him have the same site-selective impairment?

How else does he explain needing to find out about this from outsiders? NOBODY who works for him in his office said a word until outsiders did? Now why would that be?

24. Offices for House members

Have you ever been in the Capitol Hill office on the House side? The staff, usually about 8-10 people, shares a space the size of a small Manhattan apartment. Desks are shoved together and frequently you have to turn sideways to fit between workstations. There is no way everyone who worked in that office did not see his Nazi flag poster. Reports say he is a Legislative Correspondent, which is the lowly position in the office responsible for writing canned responses to the public and using the AUTO PEN, a device in every office, to sign the missives. He'll be gone by next week, but undoubtedly picked up by a conservative organization that admires his gumption.

Yeah, so that you could try and figure out who took the image... not that the flag was there in the first place.

Fascists gonna fascist.
