President Donald Trump unleashed on Sen. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) while calling on the necessary authorities to investigate him following his Department of Justices indictment of former FBI Director James Comey and New York Attorney General Letitia James.
The Ukraine Impeachment (of me!) Scam was a far bigger Illegal Hoax than Watergate, declared Trump in a post Sunday morning on Truth Social. I sincerely hope the necessary authorities, including CONGRESS, are looking into this!
The president then accused Schiff of being dishonest and violating so many laws, and protocols. Adam Schiffty Schiff was sooo dishonest and corrupt. So many laws, and protocols, were violated, and just plain broken!!!, he continued.
Trumps comments came after Comey was indicted last month on charges of making a false statement and obstruction related to his congressional testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee in 2020 regarding the FBIs investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.

(20,323 posts)Adam Schiff is no pushover.
He is well versed in the law and his case will be dismissed. Jamie Raskin may be the next target. I am certain he is well prepared as well.

(81 posts)Comey and Bolton (love them or hate them) are both former government officials. Leticia James (I mean, how can one NOT love her) is a prosecutor in a single jurisdiction.
But Adam Schiff is currently a sitting Senator (mine, and he was my rep for the better part of the last twenty years other than when I had the misfortune to live in David Drier's district - side note, have met Adam many times and I adore him; he's whip-smart, compassionate and witty as hell).
ALL of these politically-motivated indictments are, of course, ginned up and wrong but if the DOJ goes after the duly-elected Senator who is serving the most populous state in the country in Congress, that's really crossing the Rubicon. Not that I put it past them to try, just pointing out that such an action would be far more beyond the pale than anything the orange menace has done to date on his deranged retribution tour.

(114 posts)since Schiff's actions/words are protected by the "Speech" clause in the Constitution. All he has to do is point that out to the judge and the case is tossed. Hell, his lawyer can point it out at the time the indictment is issued and the judge tosses it out along with a scathing rebuke to whatever feckless jerk in the DOJ brings it.
The DOJ does have a large stable of feckless jerks.

(27,393 posts)Somebody would challenge him for once. "You say Sen. Schiff has committed crimes. What are they?"
And that embarrassment he did today with world leaders, talking about, "Crooked Hillary." "What exactly did she do that was illegal?"
