Key Trump nominee accused of sexual harassment

Source: Politico

In late July, Paul Ingrassia, the White House liaison for the Department of Homeland Security, arrived at a Ritz-Carlton in Orlando with a lower-ranking female colleague and others from their department. When the group reached the front desk, the woman learned she didn’t have a hotel room.

Ingrassia then informed her that she would be staying with him, according to five administration officials familiar with the episode. Eventually the woman discovered that Ingrassia had arranged ahead of time to have her hotel room canceled so she would have to stay with him, three of those officials said.

The woman, a fellow Trump appointee, initially protested the room arrangement. But, not wanting to cause more of a scene around other colleagues, she relented, according to the officials. So the two, who knew each other previously as friends, went to the room and slept in separate beds. Ingrassia’s attorney said no last-minute changes were made to the hotel reservations.

Ingrassia’s female colleague filed a human resources complaint against him before retracting it days later, fearing retaliation, according to three of the officials. However, five administration officials told POLITICO she complained to them that Ingrassia was making her feel uncomfortable and that it was hurting her ability to do her job.

Least surprising thing ever - Ingrassia is a close associate of Andrew Tate, the well-known misogynist, rapist and con-artist:

One of Tate’s lawyers now works in the White House as a liaison to the US Justice Department.

Paul Ingrassia was part of a team representing the Tate brothers in a defamation lawsuit they filed against several of their alleged victims.

But Ingrassia also acted as Andrew Tate’s publicist and says he got the self-described misogynist influencer onto a show hosted by Tucker Carlson, the former Fox News host.

Ingrassia effusively praised Tate in online posts. In one dating from July 2023, he echoed far-right online talking points about moral decay in Western countries and called Tate “an extraordinary human being” who was offering “a dying West some hope for renewal”.

White House point man at Homeland Security shared ‘martial law option’ post to keep Trump in office

On Monday, ABC News reported that Ingrassia was pushed out of the Justice Department as liaison following clashes between him and the chief of staff over pushing to hire candidates with “exceptional loyalty” to the president.

CNN confirmed that Ingrassia is no longer at the Justice Department and his LinkedIn profile now lists him at Homeland Security.

In one post from January 2, 2021, Ingrassia called right-wing commentator Seb Gorka “soft” after Gorka rebuked a post that called for then-Vice President Mike Pence to be arrested and executed by firing squad for not supporting attempts to overturn the 2020 election.
...
Four days after the Gorka tweet, Ingrassia shared a blog post from his podcast that argued for the “martial law option” to keep Trump in power, urging him to use emergency powers to delay Joe Biden’s inauguration. The post claimed Trump had a “moral imperative” to ensure election security and called for a military-run re-vote in key battleground states where he had challenged the results.

she relented, according to the officials.

Why? She should have asked for a room of her own, and refuse to share a room with the guy. I am not defending the guy but, she did wrong by relenting, you just say "no", I will not do it, and that is the end of it.

Why do people accept this type of imposed situations? I don't know, maybe someone has an explanation.

Seems like a nasty Trump boot licker to me!!

.............In May, Trump nominated Ingrassia, who received his law degree in 2022, to head the Office of Special Counsel. After he drew publicity for ties to white supremacist Nick Fuentes and Andrew Tate — an influencer who has been charged in Britain with rape and human trafficking, which he denies — Ingrassia’s July nomination hearing was indefinitely delayed.

It was a rare instance of Senate Republicans pushing back on a Trump nominee.

Ingrassia has shared conspiracy theories about 9/11 and praised far-right conspiracy theorist Alex Jones. A podcast that he co-hosted called for martial law and secession after the 2020 election if legal efforts to overturn the election didn’t succeed. He has advocated for some people who rioted at the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. On his Substack, Ingrassia, who interned for the first Trump White House, dubs himself “President Trump’s favorite writer” because Trump shared his comments almost 100 times last year on social media...................
