WASHINGTON (AP) — Israel and Hamas have agreed to the “first phase” of his peace plan to pause fighting and release at least some hostages and prisoners, U.S. President Donald Trump said Wednesday in announcing the outlines of the biggest breakthrough in months in the two-year-old war.

“This means that ALL of the Hostages will be released very soon, and Israel will withdraw their Troops to an agreed upon line as the first steps toward a Strong, Durable, and Everlasting Peace,” Trump wrote on social media. “All Parties will be treated fairly!”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on social media, “With God’s help we will bring them all home.” Hamas said separately that the deal would ensure the withdrawal of Israeli troops as well as allow for the entry of aid and exchange of hostages and prisoners.

Hamas plans to release all 20 living hostages this weekend, people familiar with the matter told The Associated Press, while the Israeli military will begin a withdrawal from the majority of Gaza.

When they see what's been done to their homes, and country.

"The Trump deal also envisioned that Hamas would turn over power to a group of apolitical technocrats, supervised by an international body led by Trump and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair."
Yeah--trump is so apolitical.

Netanyahu will find a pretext to continue the slaughter of the Palestinians. Also another likely outcome will be, given past history, that the negotiations on "other phases" of a peace agreement will never go anywhere. I do not trust Netanyahu for one moment or Crumb The 1st. I notice that the reprehensible Kushner was also seen being involved in this supposed "deal" for peace.

Recall from his first term that he so rarely did anything that could be PERCEIVED as positive. Farewd Zakaria I believe it was that said “tonight Trump truly became president” in one of the most glaring all time examples of journalistic malpractice

The right wing media is salivating to say positive things about drumpf. And the American people have always seemed to have collective amnesia about how horrible he is and only seems to remember a wistful memory of a first term glory that never existed.

So will they all, at least for a few weeks, block all the bad out and say they approve of his job performance because he “brought peace to the Middle East”?

If that sounds absurd, remember that this country DID re-elect him.
