The SecWar smeared every minority and person of color in the military.
By John Amato September 30, 2025
During his forced pep rally for military leaders, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth smeared every non-white uniform leader in the US Military as being DEA hires from a "woke" Department of Defense.
Hegseth pranced proud around the stage during his speech, nervous and anxious, and exuded a man not in control of himself.
HEGSETH: For too long, we've promoted too many uniformed leaders for the wrong reasons, based on their race, based on gender quotas, based on historic so-called firsts.
We've pretended that combat arms and non-combat arms are the same thing. We've weeded out so-called toxic leaders under the guise of double-blind psychology assessments, promoting risk-averse, go-along-to-get-along conformists instead.
You name it, the department did it. Foolish and reckless political leaders set the wrong compass heading.......................................

These comments about military promotions better go over like lead balloons IMHO!!

(50,105 posts)Hegseth worked his way up to his job how exactly? Shall we compare his record to his predecessor's?

(171,474 posts)Did the secretary bring generals and admirals in from around the world so he could treat them like a CPAC audience? Actually, yes, he did.
Why Pete Hegsethâs pitch to generals and admirals was even worse than expected

U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth slammed fat generals and diversity initiatives that he said led to decades of decay in the military and told a rare gathering of commanders on Tuesday they should resign if they dont support his agenda. Foolish and reckless political leaders set the wrong compass heading and we lost our way. We became the Woke Department, Hegseth said as he kicked off the event in Quantico, Virginia. But not anymore, he said.
Choosing the worst moment from Hegseths bizarre and unnecessary speech is admittedly challenging. Was it his boasts about firing qualified military leaders? Or maybe his condemnation of diversity initiatives and climate change as s--- that the military will no longer care about?.....
Maybe the lowest of the low points was Hegseths comment that seemed to open the door to a new attitude toward war crimes. We unleash overwhelming and punishing violence on the enemy. We also dont fight with stupid rules of engagement. We untie the hands of our warfighters to intimidate, demoralize, hunt, and kill the enemies of our country, he declared. No more politically correct and overbearing rules of engagement.

In other words, Hegseth spent millions of taxpayer dollars to bring generals and admirals in from around the world so that he could treat them like a CPAC audience.
As for those in attendance who mightve been uncomfortable with the secretarys absurdities, he extended some advice to them, too. If the words Im speaking today are making your heart sink, then you should do the honorable thing and resign, Hegseth said.

Loved the little double-take he did at the camera just before stomping off stage to go get fucked up. The reaction wasn't what you expected, was it? Poor little tough guy with hurt fee-fees.

(27,408 posts)WTF? Promoting illegal actions. I'm guessing the fat generals and minority officers were fairly offended, too.

(6,662 posts)What a fucking douche. I suspect that the majority of those admirals and generals lost any respect they might have had for Hegseth and Trump. They were talked-down to and insulted.

(1,210 posts)Incredibly stupid, ignorant and nefarious are what come to mind for me with this absolutely immoral takedown of our military forces. Our nation's adversaries have to be exuberantly happy we have madmen driving our military into a state police force answerable to no one except trump. It's is an insult to all who have served our country honorably while empowering the white supremacists who should be tossed out on their asses.

(1,698 posts)They get louder, pump their chest and try to give the impression they're bigger than they are. It's too avoid an actual challenge. If you're intimidated you're unlikely to make the 1st move.
Removal from office using the 25th Amendment or impeachment are highly unlikely so that only leaves 1 threat to his authority, the military. A coup or friendly fire is doubtful but ignoring an illegal order can go a long way to neutralizing him. If you game it out, the end result would be a severely weakened Presidency with other Republicans maybe, finding their spines. Not enough for impeachment, but enough to halt his agenda and start investigations.
If you control the military, you control the narrative. I think he lost much of the military, today. It was a bad miscalculation in my opinion. It was totally unnecessary, he was in control by default but because of his fear and lack of military experience he doubted their loyalty and showed his ass.
