DOGE tool built to track GOP's wild 40% Social Security fraud claim finds next to nothing

Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency is facing a new round of questioning after a failed fraud crackdown created even more chaos at the Social Security Administration — and found little to no fraud.

Already reeling from office closures, staff shortages and service cuts, the struggling agency is now reportedly being slowed down even further by an anti-fraud tool that barely caught any fraud while dramatically slowing down the system.

As senior correspondent Eric Katz reported Thursday for Government Executive: “DOGE said 40% of phone calls into Social Security centers were fraud, so it built a tool to track it. Turns out the 40% was actually 0.0018% and the tool slowed down processing significantly.”

According to internal documents obtained by journalist Natalie Alms surrounding the new anti-fraud checks on phone claims, “only 2 claims out of over 110,000 were found to likely be fraudulent,” she wrote on X.

9. The purpose of DOGE is not to find waste, fraud, and abuse.

Or to make government agencies more efficient.

It is to cripple the functions of those agencies while stealing sensitive information on US citizens.

Project 2025 is designed to eliminate agencies that serve the American people. THAT has been the long term goal of the Republican Party since FDR's New Deal and LBJ's Great Society. For generations they have failed to accomplish those goals legislatively because the American people want these programs.

Fear is not the only reason Republicans in the House and Senate have ceded the power of the legislative branch to this POtuS and the richest man in the world. They have the same agenda in terms of dismantling federal programs.

They also want permanent One Party rule, which means an authoritarian government like Orban in Hungary and Putin in Russia. Those countries have elections, but the outcome is predetermined.

11. Does 2A work to our advantage?

Far-right hate groups are heavily armed, and some are organized. They overwhelmingly support Trump, and are itching to use their 2A joysticks in a civil war against the libs and non-whites.

Ostensibly they need weapons to defend against a tyrannical government, but a couple of the most prominent groups full supported the orange tyrant's attempt to overturn the 2020 election.

12. But that's the thing

A fascist government doesn't want ANY "armed citizens" AT ALL and not one of the other dictatorships have citizens who are armed (and barely even have their police armed). But here, you have the fanaticals who threaten anyone attempting to take their guns from their "cold dead hands".

Doesn't matter what political persuasion they are because even stoking "a civil war" puts the PTB in danger and they will eventually have to disarm those MAGat loons.

13. They will be usefull idiots to the tyrant when seizing power

But once that power is consolidated those groups can try standing against the military if it comes to that, but more likely the leaders of groups like Proud Boys and Oath Keepers will be co-opted into an official enforcement group.

Too many potential scenarios to predict with any certainty, but of one thing I'm sure: if we have a war between the citizenry and the military, it's an apocalyptic situation orders of magnitude worse than today's carnage with firearms.

14. They always try to co-opt and "use" those types to make them think they are "important"

But the ones they are co-opting are "opportunists" just like they are and are just as vengeful, egotistical, and power-hungry as the powers-to-be.

Thus you'll ultimately have the result of what we are seeing now within the GOP (which is being intentionally suppressed by the media via the "ButBiden" distraction) - they cannibalize themselves. There are factions who will ultimately break the whole thing apart.
