Tesla reported that it delivered 336,681 cars in the quarter, compared to 386,810 in the first three months of last year. The Wednesday data represented the companys worst sales in nearly three years, a drop of 50,000 vehicles from a year ago.
Tesla has faced protests outside its showrooms from those opposed to the actions of Musk in one of his other roles as the head of the Department of Government Efficiency, and the policies of President Donald Trump.
There have also been instances of vandalism against Tesla facilities, including its charging stations, as well as some cars. All these incidents may have discouraged some potential Tesla buyers from going ahead with their purchases.

(26,418 posts)Does not necessarily reflect actual sales. Go by any large dealership and you'll see lots filled with cars waiting to be sold. There's a Walmart parking lot I pass fairly frequently and most of the time almost a 3rd of the lot is filled with new cars. The dealers must rent out the space from Walmart to store their unsold car/truck inventory.

(63,988 posts)Does Tesla have dealerships that are independently owned? Are all the dealerships owned by the factory? I don't know.
I suspect that a delivery from Ford or GM might not mean the same thing as a delivery from Tesla.
And good morning.

For the long answer google, "are tesla dealerships independently owned?" .
