In an average year, 433 people die and 618 are wounded by guns in New Mexico. The "Land of Enchantment State" has the 12th-highest rate of gun violence in the US. In New Mexico, 46.2% of adults have at least one gun at home. Firearms licenses in 2021: 122,968
Until the US begins to regulate firearms, shootings will continue throughout the country like a warzone. "President Plancecrash" recently signed an E.O. reversing federal firearms regulations, a step completely in the opposite direction of what the American people need.

The late VBPO Cameron Girvin. No photo available of VBPO Christopher Reese.

First responders attempted life-saving procedures and both officers were transported to local hospitals. Officer Reese succumbed to his wounds just after midnight at Princess Anne Hospital. Officer Girvin succumbed to his wounds at 0430 Saturday morning at Virginia Beach General Hospital.
Officer Reese had served with the Virginia Beach Police Department for three years and had previously served for three years with the Virginia Beach Sheriff's Office.
Nota Bene: I do not like use of the word "tussle" in the excerpt.
In an average year, 1,065 people die and 1,911 are wounded by guns in Virginia. Around 44.6% of adults in Virginia have guns at home. Federal firearm licenses: 423,707.
At this rate, America's undeclared war on itself is going to kill nearly 50,000 victims in 2025. In 2022, the appalling number was 48,000.
US Army medics or US Navy Corpsmen should be deployed throughout the country to triage and treat casualties, like a warzone.
