Hundreds of contractors fired amid USAID shakeup, source says

Source: Scripps News

Three-hundred personal service contractors were terminated by the Trump administration, a U.S. Agency for International Development official told Scripps News on Saturday.

The staff are contracted to help USAID implement programs, grants, and awards.PSC personnel have been receiving rolling notifications since Wednesday, according to another source familiar with the matter.

According to USAID, personal service contractors are individuals "who enter into a contract that generally establishes an employer-employee relationship with the Agency. The individual appears, in many respects, to be a Government employee; however, USAID’s PSCs are legally not U.S. Government employees for the purpose of any law administered by the Office of Personnel Management."

It comes as the administration has gutted the agency amid reforms to the federal workforce under the Trump administration, including efforts to terminate foreign service officers. The administration has faced multiple lawsuits challenging its efforts to cut staffing and pause foreign aid funding.

My friend is a big Noam Chomsky type of guy. Chomsky always discussed USAID and similar humanitarian agencies as fronts for regime change and the CIA. That could easily be true, but fuckface is only canceling it because he has money to stea…I mean tax cuts he needs to make.

My friend also has always lived Tulsi because she was opposed to our foreign wars including the proxy wars. RFK Jr also spoke out against the wars so he likes him too…then fuckface suggested slashing the military budget in half. My friend never said he likes fuckface, but he has spoken positively of these developments. He is over the moon about the prospect of cutting the military budget…but this will not bring healthcare to the US…Just tax cuts to the centi-billionaires.

He was a big fan of Jimmy Carter. Voted for Obama and then became disillusioned by Democrats and their ties to billionaires over ties to workers…and the continued foreign wars. He wanted Bernie in 2016, but ended up voting for Stein (from California so no impact there). He doesn’t like Bernie anymore as he has gone too mainstream.

His number one priority has always been isolationism from any and all wars including ones where we are the good guys like Ukraine. I always aligned with him strongly on anti Iraq war and the 20 year boondoggle in Afghanistan. He and Code Pink were very much aligned. He sees Ukraine supporters as only being supporters because that is a war being led by Democrats. He claims higher enlightenment by being opposed to all wars including the next one whatever that will be. Sometimes war is necessary though…particularly in opposition to an old school war of conquest. Either way he views US foreign policy as just as rabidly warlike in modern times via regime change techniques done covertly so it’s all the same to him. USAID was exactly that to him - a CIA tool for regime changes and compliance.

He was also big on universal healthcare so he seemed left.
