GOP senator slams 'radical leftist' Tim Walz for 'getting married on the anniversary of Tiananmen Square'
Source: UK Independent
Republican Senator Ron Johnson attacked Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Walz over his ties to China, claiming its a red flag that the radical leftist got married on the anniversary of Tiananmen Square.
Speaking to Maria Bartiromo on Fox Business, the Wisconsin lawmaker and member of the Senate Homeland Security Committee said of presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris and her running mate: Shes a radical leftist. She chose another radical leftist. Theyre just assuming the mainstream media is not going to cover his background.
The House is going to investigate it now its very strange. He got married on the anniversary of Tiananmen Square. Hes gone to China. Hes taught in China. Hes got deep connections to China.
Donald Trumps conservative allies have tried hard to attack the Minnesota governor on a range of issues since he was chosen by Vice President Harris to join her on the Democratic ticket earlier this month, angered by Walzs repeated attacks on Trump and his deputy JD Vance as weird.

(53,358 posts)And Johnson is a total traitor.
From the WaPo article:
What does July 4th mean to me? Freedom, Sen. Ron Johnson chirruped on Twitter on Independence Day.
For the Wisconsin Republican, it meant, specifically, the freedom to spend July 4 in Moscow with seven other Republican lawmakers posing for propaganda photos with Russian officials. On the same day it was reported in Britain that two more people had been poisoned by a Russian nerve agent British officials say came from Vladimir Putins regime. On the day after the Senate Intelligence Committee affirmed the U.S. intelligence communitys conclusion that Russia interfered in the election to help Donald Trump.
Johnson and his colleagues apparently exercised their freedom not to meet with opposition or civil society figures (those whom the Putin regime has not imprisoned or killed), avoiding the risk of offending their hosts. They also exercised their freedom to soft-pedal their criticism of the Russian government, leading Russian politicians and state media to mock them as supplicants.Yet despite this lavish display of the freedom to kowtow, they didnt get the meeting they hoped for with Putin himself. He was busy, the Kremlin said.
There was a time, in the pre-Trump era, when Republicans would have erupted in fireworks over an Independence Day visit by submissive American lawmakers to the country the 2012 Republican presidential nominee called our number one geopolitical foe. (Relations have worsened considerably since then.) They called Jane Fonda Hanoi Jane and a traitor when she went to North Vietnam in 1972. After Democrats visited Iraq in 2002, Republicans ridiculed them as Baghdad boys.

(22,433 posts)That was April 15, so he also got married on the anniversary of:
The sinking of the Titanic
The death of Abraham Lincoln
The debut of Jackie Robinson
The opening of the first McDonalds
Which frankly leaves me with several burning questions. Why did Jackie Robinson make his debut appearance on the anniversary of the death of Abraham Lincoln? Why did the first McDonalds open on the anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic?
And more importantly, IS TIM WALZ RESPONSIBLE? AND IF SO, FOR WHAT?
I think Ron Johnson should start an investigation into these disturbing questions.
EDITED TO ADD IMPORTANT UPDATE:
It's been brought to my attention by Ron Johnson that Tim Walz actually got married on June 4, which is the first day of the Tiananmen Square massacre, not April 15, which is when the protests began. This means that he also got married on the same day that:
The Battle of Midway started
Jack Kevorkian carried out his first publicly assisted suicide
Mission Impossible won an Emmy for outstanding dramatic series
The original Gerber baby died aged 95
In other words, Tim Walz is definitely guilty of something.

looks to me like this may be the big thing of the day:
1945 The German concentration camp Bergen-Belsen is liberated
British and Canadian troops found about 53,000 prisoners inside the camp. Tens of thousands died before and after the liberation.
Jesus Christ, Johnson anybody that doesn't laugh in your face on that one most be dead

We can not dishonor Ronald Reagan to that extent. Besides if my wife lives through all this, we can always make another attempt for a healthy but more timely birth of our next chance of having child.

(1,213 posts)Morons. Here's some other stuff that happened on 4 June:
1561 - Lightning causes a fire that destroys St Paul's Cathedral.
1760 - New England colonists drive the Acadians out of Nova Scotia in what became known as the Great Upheaval (later memorialized in Longfellow's poem, Evangeline).
1783 - The Montgolfier brothers debut the hot air balloon. Exactly one year later, Élisabeth Thible becomes the first woman to pilot one.
1792 - George Vancouver claims Puget Sound for England.
1855 - Henry Wayne sets sail on an expedition to acquire camels for the US Camel Corps. Probably my favorite entry for 'This Day in History.'
1862 - Traitor Confederates abandon Fort Pillow, and Union troops occupy it as a base for taking Memphis soon thereafter.
1876 - First completed voyage of a US transcontinental train voyage. Considered an 'express' route, it took over 83 hours to run between NYC and SF.
1901 - Massachusetts passes the first minimum wage law.
1917 - First Pulitzer Prizes awarded. A fun trivia question would be to name a winner.
1919 - Congress approves the Nineteenth Amendment (women's right to vote), and sends it to states for ratification.
1939 - In perhaps the most repugnant display of anti-Semitism in American history, the US Government denies landing permission to the ship MS Saint Louis, which was carrying over 900 Jews fleeing Europe. More than 200 of them will later die in concentration camps.
1940 - End of Dunkirk evacuation of more than 335,000 British soldiers from France.
1942 - Start of Battle of Midway.
1944 - US troops under the command of Mark Clark (seriously) captures Rome.
1977 - JVC introduces the VHS video tape.
--------
All those things to choose from, and Tiananmen Square is what they pick from the bunch? Really? The choice says far more about this traitor Putin asset than it ever could about Walz.
