WASHINGTON — House Republicans are ramping up their impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden and their investigation of his family this week.

On Tuesday, David Weiss, the special counsel overseeing the investigation into Biden’s son Hunter, will appear before the House Judiciary Committee for a closed-door interview, the first time a special counsel will answer questions from congressional investigators in the middle of an investigation.............

..................

House Republicans have accused the Justice Department of giving the president's son preferential treatment. They’ve cited the testimony of the two IRS investigators — Joseph Ziegler and Gary Shapley — to back up those claims. The two testified under oath that Weiss, a Trump appointee, was blocked from moving forward in his probe by other U.S. attorneys and senior officials in the DOJ. Shapley also testified and provided handwritten notes of a meeting in which he stated that Weiss said he was “not the deciding person on whether charges are filed.”

Weiss has written multiple letters to Congress rejecting those claims and is expected to be very specific about his level of authority in his testimony on Tuesday...................

................

And Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., has indicated that his panel is preparing to send out a series of subpoenas in its impeachment inquiry focused on the Biden family's business dealings. Two sources connected to the investigation tell NBC News that among those expected to receive subpoenas, as soon as the middle of this week, are Hunter Biden and the president’s brother James Biden..............

Every time he was asked when we could expect him to do something he'd said he would, he'd blurt out "I'll let you know in two weeks".

(and I've been following this closely) they are going to impeach Joe Biden because his son has a penis. Is that about right?

Comer and Jordan, esteemed Washington law firm will invoke the penis espionage act knowing that such a move will stimulate the stupid people that trump loves while at the same time waste tax payers money which fiscal conservatives abhor. I hope I got that right.

This is all theater in response to Slobby's desperate demands.

Yabba Dabba Doo slings insults outside the courtroom against the AG and the judge; Slobby's "doctor" (and probably others) posts on twitter in the exact same language and "style" Slobby uses, complete with, "Election interference!!!1!!" in shouty caps lock, with vague references to "leftists," Democrats, etc.

I was disgusted and disappointed in MSNBC last night, quoting Slobby's testimony as if any bit of it was legit.

19. Hunter Biden special counsel denies political meddling in testimony to Congress

A US justice department investigator leading an inquiry into US President Joe Biden's son has rejected claims of political meddling in the case during highly unusual testimony to Congress.
...
According to a written copy of his opening remarks reported by media, the US Attorney for Delaware told the panel: "I am, and have been, the decision-maker on this case. I do not, however, make these decisions in a vacuum.

"I am bound by federal law, the principles of federal prosecution and DoJ [Department of Justice] guidelines."

His statement added: "At no time was I blocked, or otherwise prevented from pursuing charges or taking the steps necessary in the investigation by other United States Attorneys, the Tax Division or anyone else at the Department of Justice."
