Trump tells Glenn Beck he'd 'lock up' political opponents if reelected
Source: The Hill
You said in 2016, you know, Lock her up,' Beck reminded Trump of his statements about Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton in 2016 during an appearance on his BlazeTV show Tuesday. And then when you became president, you said, We dont do that in America. Thats just not the right thing to do.'
Thats what theyre doing, Beck continued, asking the former president, Do you regret not locking her up? And if youre president again, will you lock people up?
Trump, who dismissed the various charges he faces in Georgia, New York, Florida and Washington, D.C., said there is no choice.

(14,257 posts)Yet what will become of them as Trump and other so-called Republicans get defeated? These people are dead enders with little real power.
While there are always isolated acts of violence, it seems implausible that there would a serious coordinated and effective rebel military force that couldnt be easily defeated by our government forces. How would a modern civil war play out? I just dont see it.
The MAGA world is just lost.

(21,858 posts)Exactly what was she supposed to have done wrong in regards to Benghazi? Were there any actual accusations, or was it just a matter of "Lets use this to make her look bad"?
It's my understanding that she didn't do anything wrong, but some people evidently continued to think otherwise. A friend of mine told me after the 2016 election that she just coudn't bring herself to vote for Hillary "because of Benghazi." I've been kicking myself ever since for not asking her to elaborate. (She didn't vote for Trump, either, thank dog; she didn't cast a vote for potus at all.)

(682 posts)They pretty much admitted that at the time:
Everybody thought Hillary Clinton was unbeatable, right? But we put together a Benghazi special committee, a select committee," McCarthy said. What are her numbers today? Her numbers are dropping. Why? Because she's untrustable. But no one would have have known any of that had happened had we not fought and made that happen.
In a statement, McCarthy spokesman Matt Sparks clarified that the Benghazi committee has "nothing to do with politics."

All it would take is one disgruntled person not receiving service from a federal employee. Even if 99.9% of those using the service were happy and knew what the limitations were.
My dad was a CED for the ASCS now the Farm Agency. I don't think there were any dissatisfied farmers. Although considering there were times the office had to shut down due to Congress not passing a fiscal bill. I'm sure there were some.

And all the other Republicans will go along with it. They'll be too scared not to.
This is all sounding very dystopian. He did enough damage to this country in his 4 years .. if he (or any of the like minded cronies) win the presidency it will be time to split the USA up. Because I, for one, do not want to live in donald trumps world. Donald fucking trump! How the hell did we get here with a D-listed celebrity like him?
I'm never one to use terms like Hitler or nazi... but.... damn, they are recruiting at the Iowa fair. They are actually planning.

There is no constitutional grounds or legal precedent for that.
And of course, with no evidence - only testimony either concocted (one such witness is now in jail for perjury), or given in exchange for a bribe (a large stipend in some cases - and even a hotel in one).
But the right-wing media and voters loved it. That's what Cheeto knows will happen here, if he gets the chance.
