KYIV, Ukraine (AP) Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met Thursday with Swedish environmental activist Greta Thunberg and prominent European figures who are forming a working group to address ecological damage from the 16-month-old Russian invasion.
The meeting in the Ukrainian capital came as fighting continued around the country.
The governor of the Kherson region, Oleksandr Prokudin, said two people were killed in the regions capital in a Russian strike that hit residences, a medical facility and a school where residents were lined up to receive humanitarian aid. Another person was killed in a morning strike on the village of Bilzoerka, the regional prosecutors office said.
The presidential office said Thursday morning that at least eight civilians died in Russian attacks during the previous 24 hours.

Its a peculiarly Russian relationship. Which has developed in the paranoid, dog eat dog, violent atmosphere of Russian politics. Where its never about trust, its all about power plays and positioning oneself, and who one's allies are.
I think their conflict is mostly made up in an attempt to throw off Western and Ukraine intelligence. What I fear is that Putin/Prigozhin are going to build a big Wagner force in Belarus for a couple of reasons. To "stabilize" that regime against any resistance force building in that country in the wake of Ukraine's movement towards western style democracy, and help defeat any new plans to topple the government by pro-democracy forces within the country. And also as a new threat to Ukraine from the north. Which Putin/Prigozhin see as a new threat they can create and split Ukraine forces and weaken them at some point in the future.

This follows an agreement to relocate Wagner mercenaries and their controversial leader, Yevgeny Prigozhin, to Belarus, following the recent mutiny against Russian forces.

He had great hope in the young people who were inspired to action because of her.
Dad passed away at the age of 96 on June 20. He was a union activist and proud democratic socialist who was blacklisted as a young man after trying to organize the Austin American-Statesman. Management tricked him into quitting by insulting his pride. Since the gal he was romancing (my mom) had strong South Austin roots and refused to live anywhere else, he eventually opened his own printing company. A union printshop in Texas.
Lots of political printing from Dems running for office passed through his doors.

The Dam breach was a catastrophe, and it wasn't Ukraine that did it, and no one can do anything to address it.
