Related: About this forumanyone still seeing the red birds (cardinals)???
A lot of birds are not arpund our place in SW Ala. this year. It is very very quiet in the mornings. I see an occasional mockingbird, and of course the usual small number of vultures.
the blue jays left a few days ago, and there were not many of them.
This time of year, we always have had Red birds, and lots of small seed eating birds..not a peep..cannot remember last time I saw a cardinal.
Anyone ?????

(60,040 posts)I am living in 15 acres of woods....would think a few birds would show up, as they always have, but noooooo.

(124,788 posts)We always have lots of birds. I put some feeders out, and (besides the usual millions of sparrows), I've seen house finches, chickadees, nuthatches, goldfinches, juncos, blue jays, cardinals, and downy, hairy and red-bellied woodpeckers.

Listen, wundergroud weather site says we get a big storm for Christmas day, and I know your area really gets hit by these things.
Stay low and safe.

(6,785 posts)Monroe gets hammered about as badly as we do. :/ I remember driving down 84 between Grove Hill and Monroeville after Ivan and just being floored at how many of those massive pecans down that road got wiped out.

(60,040 posts)We had zero chimney swifts this year at our place, but there were several small flocks in other places in town.
I am not even hearing the woodpeckers, we have had 3 kinds all around us for years.
Reports are that warmer temps are moving birds further north, and that some migratory birds are not even migrating.
