Warren joins chorus calling for Frankens resignation

I guess this pretty much makes it official, Franken is finished.

Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren joined the chorus of Democratic senators calling for Minnesota Democrat Al Franken to resign in the wake of new sexual harassment allegations, including fellow Senator Ed Markey.

Female Democratic senators lead the charge for Franken’s ouster Wednesday, but Warren was the last among them to speak out publicly against him, waiting until mid-afternoon to do so.

“I think he should resign,” Elizabeth Warren said in a statement put out by her staff. She did not elaborate.

Earlier in the afternoon, a Warren aide told the Globe that the senator had talked to Franken privately and told him he should step down

Sigh...one more I will rule out for my vote in the 2020 primary. This big field is suddenly going to be rather thin.

Do they know something ?

or are they trying to save the seat and Franken is expected to take one for the team.

so far - all I can see is "The number of allegations" - how about the number of anonymous allegations ?

Maybe we find out tomorrow - or not.

If they get this wrong - shame on them

So that's easy - who will be the next target? No investigation - just OUT! An investigation could have been very informative. Are we trying to make a statement in that Dems expel members just on the basis of accusation while the GOP backs pedophiles? If so, this was the wrong senator to let this happen to. Who's going to be the Dem with the best questions in investigations now and the Dem with the deepest knowledge of whatever issue is front and center? Hell, I'm ready to join a revolution, march on Washington, and kick them all out. Until we do, we won't have decent, knowledgeable people run for government office. People like that don't want to get mixed up in such a reprehensible group of people.
