within his reach, which is opposite of what his supporters expected. They voted for him because he said he would drain the swamp, and instead it turned into another projection, where what they accused others of doing was precisely what they were guilty of doing themselves. Except this time, it came with a visual, because Trump turned the reflecting pond on the Mall into a green gory mess where even the wildlife don't have a chance. Worse than a swamp.
We all know that all this hoopla with promises of investigations to find out who messed up the reflecting pond is going nowhere. The final report, if they allow it to be published, will reveal that no one sabotaged the Memorial Pond. Instead, the man-made swamp was the result of ignoring the research and proper methods in order to hand the project to a crony without a bid. Perhaps Trump's ultimate demand was that he wanted quick results. And that's the same thought-process he uses for everything, which is why he fails so often.
Trump has tried so hard to commemorate his legacy by stealing memorials, like the Kennedy Center or demanding awards that he is unqualified for, like the Nobel Peace Price, and in the end, it turns out that turning the Reflecting Pond into a swamp was the one that is truer to form.
