Everyone knows that America's military is "unmatched". here is Trump and Hegseth using the US military to pump up their own egos. of course, Hegseth will do anything to feel manly
Comments from Reddit:
Doubling back to say that I come to the movies to disassociate from the state of our country and I dont appreciate having to be subjected to the glorification of FUCKING WAR.
Yes, it was so jarring to see it. It wasn't your normal recruitment video, it was basically war porn with Donald Trump and Pete Hegseth voicing it over. Just pure propoganda and makes the US sound like supervillains.
As some will point out Regal has always shown ads for the Army, Navy, etc.
The difference is this isnt recruiting. Its straight propaganda the glorifies war. Its extremely gross and has no place in a movie theater.
It played before The Lost Boys on Saturday. Pure propaganda. It definitely riled everyone up in the theater, booing and cursing at it, me included.

(106,828 posts)The Rev. Chuck Currie, a minister in the United Church of Christ in Portland, complained in a letter to Regal Theaters that he and his family had gone to see Steven Spielbergs Disclosure Day Sunday evening when the 90-second ad touting the U.S. Department of War played before the pre-film trailers.
The audience was stunned, he told USA TODAY, calling the video a propaganda piece promoting Trump and the MAGA agenda.
It was like we were at a movie theater in Russia or North Korea, Currie wrote in his letter, which he posted on social media. Democracies do not do this.

(4,357 posts)Sick, sick, sick. I do not want anyone who is attracted by this video. If you join any branch of the military in hopes of hunting someone down and killing them, I don't want you -- we don't need killers -- we need good, decent troops willing to do the hard stuff whatever it is. But someone who has the killer mindset is more dangerous to his own people that he is to an enemy. It's the guys with the killer mindset who start fights in bars, who beat up women, who are trash.

(10,454 posts)Loved the movie!!! Hated the propaganda. Found this article interesting. Sadly we saw it in Newport Beach where no booing was heard. Happily we missed most of it. Disgusting.A liberal Portland activist who says his leisurely outing to the movies Sunday took an Orwellian turn when a new Department of War video promoting President Donald Trumps hyper-macho foreign policy interrupted the trailers is fighting back against what he called the governments propaganda and drawing support on social media.
The Rev. Chuck Currie shared his experience on Facebook, Instagram and Threads after going to Portlands Regal Lloyd Center to watch Steven Spielbergs summer blockbuster Disclosure Day. Thats when a 90-second advertisement for Trumps Department of War flashed onto the movie screen, prompting loud boos from the Portland audience, Currie said.
The video, which debuted Sunday during Trumps UFC fights at the White House, touts the U.S.s military prowess and warrior ethos. It features images of military action playing over clips of Trumps speeches accompanied by cinematic music.
Oddly, Disclosure Day opens on a UFC fight!!![]()
