In Texas, the Senate race is closer than the pundits once predicted. MAGA is fraying as Trump’s incompetence befouls their pitch. The base picked a compromised Republican to be their Goliath. And the Democratic David has turned out to be a fearsome warrior. And the contest hangs in a polling balance.

The contestants

Ken Paxton (R) has slimed James Talarico (D) as a “vegan.” He has also adopted the Trumpian nicknaming convention by calling his opponent “Talafreako”. Talarico has smashed back by asking why the Republicans haven’t done anything about the soaring price of beef and other food. And he has embraced “Talafreako” as a rallying call to his base and a merchandising hook. He is now asking why Paxton gave a pedophile facing a decades-long sentence for serially raping a boy, a get-out-of-jail-after-one-day card.

Serial child molestor Adam Hoffman has officially been added to the Nebraska sex offender registry based on his charges in Texas. This comes after Ken Paxton’s plea deal failed to register him as a sex offender in Texas and let him back on our streets.

In fairness, cases involving child sex crimes are often settled out of court to spare the victim, who may be the only witness. In this case, the boy’s mother had agreed to a settlement. However, it was the leniency of the punishment that caused comment. As part of the deal, Hoffman would have been sentenced to time served. In this case, the one day he spent in jail while arranging his bail. Hearing that, the victim’s mother said she would not have agreed had she known.

being a party of "pedophile protectors", and name names and publish the list....

Of course, when I posted that last night, I had no idea that Paxton
had given any pedophile such a 'walk' as a prosecutor !!!

(And Paxton has a record of criticizing lower attorneys for making deals which
were too lenient, but WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS???)

Now, the judge ruling over that case said 'NO' to "one day time served",
and said that the defendent would have have to serve "60 days in jail".....

Two months sentence, for serially raping a boy for TWO YEARS ??

Maybe TEXAS is "more MAGA" than we thought !!!!----
