Today is the day for remembering that getting into a war

should never be taken lightly and should always be the last resort only if necessary and if no other options are feasible or available.

If we are to truly honor those who serve in the defense of our nation, then we must respect and honor them enough not to put their lives in jeopardy unnecessarily. But when it is necessary, then we mourn every single one whose valuable life is lost.

"The best way to honor our war dead is to resolve NOT to make any more of them."

Perfectly stated.
