There's a big "hear me out" on this one. Bassem Youssef, formerly connected to the Daily Show recently went on Candace Owen's show to discuss Gaza. He then went on The Young Turks and said that politicians are wrong for not talking to people that disagree with them. He said that people that disagree should align in the short term to deal with immediate problems and then can go back to fighting later.
This brings up a bigger question. Should 2028 Democrats and even current Democratic congressional candidates go on RW shows like Candace, Tucker, Megan Kelly, and others? Should 2028 republicans go on Democratic/left shows like Pod Save America, Bulwark, Breaking Points, etc.?
Here is the video where Youssef made his statements:

(5,622 posts)If they care so much about trying to win some over they got to go where the people are. But even more they MUST get out of the TV-only mindset. Its a dying medium and most younger voters never watch. Go on podcasts and YouTube. Go on TikTok. Write a Substack.

The QAnon cultists are never going to vote for Dems.
This is not a persuadable opportunity.

(2,066 posts)The rest are nuts in their own way. Candace Owens has appeared with Kanye and spouted all sorts of pro Nazi shit. Tucker Carlson, just yuck we all know his history. But of all the former Trump supporters attacking him now, I think his attacks really get under Trumps skin. He was such a loyal follower.

(4,119 posts)People that disagree with us? Say what? That idea grants them legitimacy and their "philosophy" credibility.
People that disagree should align in the short term and then can go back to fighting later? That is a fatal mistake, one that has been made far too many times.

There is always a better way. It's up to good leaders to figure that out.
