Will one of her Democratic colleagues please pull her aside and tell her now is not the time to advocate for eliminating the filibuster when our side controls nothing in Washington? If they do it, they do it, but we should have no part in that.
Let those states with blue trifectas go on offense. Washington will pass the voter suppression bill and who knows what other nasty stuff.
When we get the trifecta in Washington back, *then* go on offense. Until then, the blue governors and blue legislatures need to go on offense, draw MAGA into oblivion, while Washington Dems play defense at least until we win one or both houses of in Congress in November.
If youre a constituent of hers, Id encourage you call or email her office.
I do not want us as a party to outsmart ourselves.

(3,128 posts)Because Im fine with running on it in 2028, certainly with nuking it if we get a trifecta in 2029, just dont think its the best idea while they have it here in 2026.

(3,128 posts)Between running on abolishing the filibuster when running for Senate and daring Republicans *now* to abolish?

Someone has to advocate for change or there will not be change.
She's planting her flag.
Let it be a beacon for the next twenty years as the old guard sloughs off like so much necrotic political tissue.
