The Trump administration’s abrupt declaration that the federal law governing presidential records for the past 48 years is unconstitutional is creating confusion about access to records of past presidencies, including documents that are on the verge of public release.

The Wednesday memo from the Justice Department’s Office of Legal Counsel, which challenges the Presidential Records Act, appears intended to give President Donald Trump the legal leeway to destroy White House records from his current term. It also gives him legal backing to refuse to hand over any remaining records to the National Archives and Records Administration when he leaves office in 2029.

That could block public access to more than 700 million White House emails, among countless other records, in Archives possession since the law went into effect in 1978, Baron said.

(Trump doesn’t seem to have any intention of leaving in 2029. Trump has definitely followed through on ruling like a dictator from Day 1.)

HOWEVER, then the game changes.

Under THAT scenario, we’re stuck with Vance, then. How much are we really stuck with him? There might be a brief respite in there. Study the polls. What are they telling us? Is Vance in deep doodoo or is he making a few good moves and decisions? Is he starting to impress people? Could he be earning a pass from a public so exhausted after the Trump misadventure that they can find a way to be okay with Vance (cuz at least he ISN’T trump, thank You, God!).

I hope and pray to My Sweet Lord that we only have another two-and-a-half years of Trump AND pence both, and then we can turn a GIGANTIC page because AT LAST we’re done with the both of them.

And then a Democratic president for a change, and preferably with TWO terms of his/her own. (Yeah, it’ll be a man, not a woman leading that ticket. And I’m okay with that. Resigningly so, however. Mainly because, being as objective as I can be, unfortunately I can’t see America with a female president yet. I hope and pray that I live to see it, but I seriously doubt a woman Democrat would voted into the Oval Office, behind “that” desk.

That said, I hope I live to see that. For real. Not just for the sake of argument.

Fresh off the giant tax cuts and huge government contracts, they are anticipating an American Empire taking all the oil so they can keep them profits coming. I've told all of you before I'm done. No donations to any 'cause' or candidate. I want healthcare, childcare, free college, clean air and water, sane energy and immigration policies, corporations NOT legally considered people, and no Citizens United. THAT is what I want from my fucking national government - for the thousands I pay in taxes each year to be used for programs that actually help me at my kitchen table.

Instead we have this shit show - a bunch of greedy little billionaire boyz taking everything we have so they can feel just a little bit more secure, feel just a little better about how great they are, and a congress whose majority is too fearful of not being reelected to act in the interests of the people.

The plan is to mess with the elections to stay in POWER, use AI to create a surveillance state, drive wage earners into fearful poverty and reinstitute the 'pure capitalism' of the Robber Baron era.
