An unhappy cousin (in Missouri) !!

As reported by a different cousin...

"The country is in the trash can ! But there is hope ! My brother, xxxxx, that has always been a huge Trump supporter, has blasted him repeatedly and called him all kinds of names ! If xxxxx can do it .... let's hope the [other] southern Missouri cousins can do it too !"

Magats aren't exactly adept at connecting the dots and, too be fair, many Americans are working many hours just to survive & have no clue.

Does that sound like bro is blaming Biden? I don't think so!

Of course there are still Trump loyalists, but I think his support has weakened considerably. His base may still look solid, but it's riddled with holes, like Swiss cheese, and more holes are forming all the time. At the rate he's going, the whole thing is going to collapse in on itself pretty soon, like a sink hole swallowing a road in Florida.

Democrats running for election this fall need to constantly push the message that the way to rein Trump in is to pack the House and Senate with as many Democrats as possible.

I think the best we can hope for is the low engagement MAGA voters get so disillusioned that they rarely show up to vote again. Personally, I'd be happy if they washed their hands of participating in Democracy for the rest of their lives.

I say this because most Republicans have been taught from a young age that all Democrats are Satan incarnate. They'll never vote for any person with a D following their name on a ballot. Best hope is they don't bother showing up to vote. Heck, we should provide PSAs that remind them how badly it went the last time they showed up in force to vote in their savior candidate.

the bustling metropolis of Springfield, MO, a good friend, whose background is in mental health counseling, has been making inroads at trying to reach folks at a magat owned coffee shop. He tries to establish some common ground. He does not always succeed, but reaches more folks than not. I’ve told him I might like to learn his “kung-fu,” though I doubt I have the patience. In any case I will likely show up some morning to see and support his good work.

Since 2017, people here (and other places) have had their record stuck on "...but that won't change the minds of his maga cult." Meanwhile changing the minds of a cult in the minority wasn't the problem. It wasn't anything anyone could count on in any way. The problem was nonaffiliated and otherwise simply ignorant voters who could potentially vote for the pedo... and on occasion did.

That being said, great to see maga enthusiasm finally being deflated. It'll be a big boon when they decide not to vote in November.
