As a kid growing up in the 60s and through 70s into the early 80s. I can remember how simple things were.
In the 60s, we had some chaos in places that I never even heard of. We had the Vietnam War on tv. I dont remember much about it but saw it on tv.
In the 70s, we had Watergate. I remember Nixons Im not a crook speech and Gerald Ford taking over the presidency. Then we had the hostage situation in Iran. We all saw the results of that play out on tv, too.
In the 80s, my teen years. We had the Iran Contra scandal. We saw President Reagan get shot and a years after that we saw Reagan ask Russia to take the Berlin Wall.
After I graduated and joined the Army in 1983 and my first duty station was in Germany. The bombing in Beirut at the Marine Barracks. We were on 100% high alert for about a week. Thought we were going to go into war.
The 90s were somewhat quiet? Except for the Kuwait and Iran war. The Clinton impeachment hearings. The OJ Simpson saga and a few other things.
The 2000s, when things started to unravel. There was 9-11 and two wars started , Iraq and Afghanistan. We all know the truth about these war. An absolute debacle of large numbers.
Then Obama in 2012 settled things down and the chaos all but disappeared. The end of the Iraq War and no scandal could be seen, except for the tan suit episode.
!
Then we have the 2020! When the chaos started. Trump lying his way into the presidency. The chaos was slow but it was there. Many people thought they could keep things calm and for the most part they did. But the truth was we were not allowed to hear the truth and that is the beginning of where we are at today. We had Covid which truly put us in a different place and time. The Trump administration mishandled everything and we were in panic mode. Several deaths and many other people hospitalized, the economy tanked and maybe the biggest thing ever to happen was J-6 and we all saw that play out forever etched in our heads.
Biden came in and calmly slowed down the pace of chaos. Thank goodness for him. But the chaos was rapped around one person Trump. He managed to be every headline day after day.
But now chaos is back and more rampant than ever because of one mans ego, incompetence, narcissistic and vile revenge on us all. I would be here all day spelling out the god awful things he has done and again we all already know.
So, in my 63 years of existence and the things I remember growing up. Trump has and is the worst president ever along with being the most corrupt chaotic person ever in history. Hands down, with the exception of Hitler.
He doesnt deserve to be remembered, but history will tell the story and hopefully it will speak the truth of his criminal ways?
Yes, in some ways, history does repeats and reflects on bad things. Trump is proving that in everything he does and says.
Going back to me growing up. We had 4 channels that carried the news. Now days Trump uses the news to promote his crime filled propaganda and the internet also is at his disposal of hate and destruction.
Life was so much simpler back then!
