I would say that it was mostly over 50 yo at my protest- but then there were a handful of early 20s
. The age that seemed to be missing were 30-45 range.
Im curious to know what other areas looked like.

(25,403 posts)What was missing were folks between 30 and 60. I did not see many that I would guess were in that age group. They seemed either younger or older.
Maybe 40 people overall. This is heavy Trump country. I think the nearby college is the center of antifa activity around here.

(1,739 posts)Lots of older folks and mid 40's and up. Not see many young people except at tables. Did bring my 26 year old granddaughter with us.

(13,189 posts)I noticed we had a gap of 30 to 40 year olds that didnt show . That could have been because of the baseball/softball tournaments going on yesterday.

(37,051 posts)Average age of protesters where we were was definitely over 55 (wife and I are 70+, most folks around us were similar).

(357 posts)It's a senior community. I spoke with several in their 80s and this was their first ever demonstration. They were a bit sheepish about it but felt they had to come. There were also a lot of people being pushed in wheelchairs. Good for them!

(735 posts)I came home and commented to my 80YO mother how disappointed I was to see the bulk of our attendees were clearly older.
I did see a few smirking kids drive past with their phones out. We live in a college town where a bunch seemed to turn out for a TSF rally. Wait til they get a load of their loan payments (and I throw no shade being six figures in myself).

(13,280 posts)But I live in the city Medford that people in OR retire to. Ashland 20 min away college town got lots of young.

(9,986 posts)A community of 4,800 with a somewhat disprortionate senior population. Also representative of a demographic with a higher percentage who actually cast ballots. Lots of positive horn honks and waves in one of Maryland's redder counties.

(25,640 posts)I was a bit surprised there weren't more people 15-30, being that their asses are now directly in the path of aggression. Saw a few, expected to see more as before. Perhaps the novelty has worn off.

(40,686 posts)A lot of the younger kids in our community went to protests elsewhere.
Why hang out with parents and grandparents when you can protest in the city or at the beach?

(34,896 posts)Lots of 65+, but there were a handful of 30-45 range. And, most of those had their kids with them. I also got there mid-protest, so I don't know who might have been there early on. People were coming and going.

(5,005 posts)At the first "hands off" it was about 80% 60 yrs and older. Yesterday I would guess the median age at 40. Many younger families bringing young children too.
I had a sign saying we need 67 dem senators to convict and remove after impeachment. A couple of younger folks asked about what that meant. I take that as good news that younger folk are getting seriously engaged to learn how govt functions and get the greedy SOBs removed

(3,366 posts)The vast majority of what I saw yesterday in my neck of the woods was folks 40 and older with a smattering of 30 somethings with their young kids.
