(44,778 posts)Ive never looked that closely at pictures of Melania. But I know she and Donald used to double date with Epstein and Maxwell.

(22,577 posts)Hard to tell for sure without a closer look than we can get from the picture of the sign, but it looks off to me. Like the head isn't at the correct angle, and the color of the face doesn't quite match the body.

Criminal behavior runs in the family. A quick internet search proves that hypothesis. I rest my case. ⚖️

Saying that Psychopaths give birth/life to Psychopaths doesnt help those unfortunate souls suffering under the thumb of such awful parenting.

(66,266 posts)pole dancing* for a child trafficker seems right up her alley. I'm just stating that the picture in and of itself is fake.
We'd know better if she had if the assclowns running this current shitshow of a country would release unredacted all the Epstein files.
*Not that there's anything wrong with that (pole dancing, generally).

Too many of us consider her to be a pole-dancer, or a prostitute. Dresses like one, decorates like one, etc.

(22,577 posts)I really don't give a hoot about Ms. Be Beest's past, whether she was a sex worker, a kindergarten teacher, or a freaking nun. It makes ABSOLUTELY NO FUCKING DIFFERENCE and has no bearing on what a huge asshole, moron, sadist, psychopath, liar, malignant narcissist, rapist, greedy pig, criminal, and Worst President Ever her husband is. I don't like her at all, but this is gross.

(30,462 posts)This sort of thing on a progressive board is just an exercise in "selective", or perhaps "opportunistic" misogyny. Those engaging in it think targeting conservative and/or "unlikeable" females makes it 'ok'. They don't get that attacking on Condition of Birth, (gender, race, etc.) rather than CHARACTER, makes it no more 'ok' than attacking people like Clarence Thomas in terms of his race.

and whether woman have the right to express their sexuality in any way they choose without being shamed (of course they do) are, imho, kind of missing the point. To me its about the blatant hypocrisy of both the religious right and the main stream and especially RW media, to whit;
Melanias career as a soft core porn model is well documented, as is her association with Jeffrey Epstein. This photo may be fake, but there are many other equally graphic images that could have been used, to make the point, which is:
We have NEVER seen a First Lady with this kind of background, and the media and the religious right basically glossed it over. You know, that same media that threw a fit over Michelle Obamas bare shoulder sleeveless dress? Its the hypocrisy that gets me. I think there was even a religious leader (aka charlatan) who was waxing poetic over her tasteful artistic nudes. And this goes for all the MAGA fundamentalist types: many dont even believe these nude photos exist; they dont want to know.
That being said, this persons choice to use a fake image, while still making the point about her well documented background, was probably not the right one.

(5,478 posts)But while I was there, I was thinking about making a poster that had trump in a skimpy swimsuit with a headline "Pedo in a Speedo"! It, of course, wouldn't be a 'real' image. But I 'really' wish I had done it!

(15,439 posts)use of fake image probably a bad move .. (will point out however that this individual ginned up this image for a single instance of use on a protest sign - which is quantitatively different than shooting it out on the web w/endless repeats and 'shares' on social media.)
And yes - the hypocrisy is absolutely staggering. However - the acceptance or 'glossing' of the absolute wanton lack of anything like character, quality, qualification or ability - starts with the person they have no hesitation in enshrining in the Oval office.
(i.e. - the moral deficiencies of the First Lady - are so completely overshadowed by that of her husband ... Who is really the 'leading' character here in terms of utter lack and deficiency ... )

(22,676 posts)Are not missing the point of RW hypocrisy, they are saying RW hypocrisy should not be met with even greater hypocrisy from the left/progressives.
We expect the right to be hypocritical, it is kind of their trademark. But if we are also willing to so easily abandon our values to do acts we would otherwise condemn as abhorrent, do we really hold those values?
robbob
(3,750 posts)If you are looking at her nude photos and saying oh! What a tramp, what a s**t, what a Jezebel, while also being a progressive especially on womans rights then yeah, youre being a hypocrite.
I couldnt care less about Melanias past career choices; when I first heard about her modelling portfolio and nude photos my main thought was gee, how is the media going to handle this? The religious right? The morality police of the GOP, who head to the fainting couch over the slightest sign of immoral behaviour from the left, and not surprisingly they all just glossed over it and ignored it.
So while the poster in question displayed at the no kings rally certainly had that salacious aspect to it (how could it not?), it also was pointing out what a break from standards of behaviour from past First Ladies Melania truly represents, and her lying thieving adulterous con man husband doubly so.
As I said before, its the sheer hypocrisy that floors me.

(43,140 posts)If this is a fake photograph, it was chosen because it makes the point in an "instant".
People give you about 3/10th of a second and then they are on to the next thing.
It's the same thing as the blazing yellow type on youtube videos. The phony "shock" facial expressions.
Personally, I loathe them but having done this for a living, I know what works and what doesn't. Yellow type is hard to beat.
Ask yourself if that pole dancing photo was changed to another, would the point have been made so instantly?
In making your judgment, you can visit this Daily Mirror link to see the available stock of nude Melanias.
My guesstimate as a former ad layout person is that there is nothing as immediately identifiable as the pole dancer. I agree that it's not the best thing to do, but the person making the sign went with the viewer getting the point in that 3/10th of a second over the ethics of using a fake photo.
The fact that Epstein is in the background further supports that the sign maker wanted to drive the point home.
