Other than simply WANTING the MONEY, what "purpose" is served by Trump "fundraising?" He just keeps it all, right?

“I sent you a LOVE LETTER but I haven’t heard back,” reads a Saturday email from Trump’s team, part of a fundraising machine that has raked in hundreds of millions of dollars over the years.

“It’s Valentine’s Day! I love you, and I was pretty sure you loved me back! Is everything okay? Roses are red, violets are blue. Do you still love Trump, as I love you? Before you read my letter – do you still love me and our great movement?”

The fundraising email is one of thousands sent by Trump over the years to his supporters, many of which include odd or threatening language, such as a recent fundraising email in which donors were warned that they may be tracked down by Immigrations and Customs Enforcement unless they respond to a survey, a survey that directed supporters to a request for contributions.

Other Trump fundraising emails have been described as “creepy,” such as an email from last month in which Trump was described as sitting “alone and in the dark,” along with the usual request for contributions to Trump’s political action committee.

1. Technically, they can't make personal use of those funds.

But they can use it to donate to other campaigns or to charities.

Donating (or not) to other campaigns is a way to continue to exert power.

Donating to a charity is, in Donnie's case at least, a good way to make personal use of it given the trump family history of blurring that line.

Besides, no one ever holds him accountable for anything....

2. That was my suspicion...no "personal use," but using them for 100% personal benefit

Then again, yes...no one ever asks that question, so given his history, maybe he'll buy something nice for himself. Something that costs at least 5 figures.

3. The FEC only has 2 members now

And Trump refuses to appoint any more. So basically they've stopped functioning. Trump could just be pocketing all this donor money and nothing would be done about it.

4. It maintains a link to his supporters and reinforces his message that he's an underdog fighting elites and

the "Deep State" for them. It counters any news from the media about how far ahead he is in fundraising, and how questionable his expenditures are.
