It's not Tiffany's looks, it was that Maples and Chump were divorced very quickly
They were only married a few years, unlike his marriage to Ivana which lasted until the first 3 kids were in their teens.
Marla Maples and Chump separated and divorced rather suddenly, and she moved out of his life immediately. I believe there were several years where Chump never saw Tiffany, or his time with her was supervised and restricted. He always paid child support and her education expenses, etc. but wasn't close to her emotionally or physically. I'm sure Marla was over-protective out of fear for her daughter's innocence (and safety.)
At the time, the rumors flying around were that Marla cheated on him, and he dumped her because of her infidelity. I've never believed that for a second, knowing what a liar he's been his entire life.
