How long after Putin falls, will it be before Moscow tries to leave the Russian Empire?

In the end, the massive debts and lack of beneficial investors will splinter the Russian Empire. The various regions of Russia have had their populations destroyed and economic futures destroyed. The massive debts of Mother Russia will be a burden that no one wants. As regions leave they will discover that things are better without the reputation, debt and parasitic leadership of the Russian Empire. There will be mistakes and monsters and grifters, but the regions that control the grift will see prosperity that the Russian Empire has never known.

It wouldn't even surprise me if Moscow tries to leave the Russian Empire in order to escape the debt and the bad reputation.

Eventually the various regions will find their new identities. They may even make something like NATO to protect themselves from the regions that remain mafia states.

The west was more than happy for Russia to use its sphere of influence to keep itself together. With the idea the PAX Russia was better for Asia than the factious border fights of these tiny nations . . . If Russia really splintered, that theory will be tested.
