from a reply I made to another thread. Thought it deserved it's own:
Many Top MAGA Trolls Arent Even in the U.S. - The New Republic
For example, one account literally named America Firstwith 67,000 followersseems to be based not in the U.S., but in Bangladesh.
Another popular conservative account, MAGA Nation, with nearly 400,000 followers and a bio that reads, Standing strong with ... Trump, America First, Patriot Voice for We The People, is apparently based in Eastern Europe.

Think I've read that little Nazi Muskrat has since removed that feature.

Though something called factually.co does confirm that the feature appeared then (momentarily at least) disappeared for some users, suggesting due to technical issues.

Top MAGA Influencers Accidentally Unmasked as Foreign Trolls - The Daily Beast
This is easily one of the greatest days on this platform, wrote Democratic influencer Harry Sisson.
Seeing all of these MAGA accounts get exposed as foreign actors trying to destroy the United States is a complete vindication of Democrats, like myself and many on here, who have been warning about this.
Dozens of major accounts masquerading as America First or MAGA proponents have been identified as originating in places such as Russia, India, and Nigeria.

(7,446 posts)atrocities of war, famine, and natural disasters to get money under false pretenses exist all over the world, including domestically.
But this is different from foreign accounts, posting as Americans and US based accounts, disseminating lies, propaganda, and fueling hate for the purpose of undermining a nation, causing discord, promoting an authoritarian, far right, supremacist, nationalistic agenda, .and bringing about the demise of our democracy.

(7,446 posts)Among the foreign-based accounts exposed but still posting through the maelstrom is @America_First0. It has more than 67,000 followers, has Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt as its profile picture, and boasts a bio reading Make America Great Again.
The account is based in Bangladesh, but has continued to post about right-wing talking points despite being outed. That includes a post from Monday afternoon that invited engagement about Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, who has recently fallen out with Trump and the MAGA movement.
