things are getting seriously strange.

(12,560 posts)Chicago-born Leo, increasingly outspoken in opposing Trumps inhuman policies since his election in May, now stands at the head of this clerical revolt.
Earlier this month, he demanded ICE rethink its demonization of migrants more than 2 million illegal aliens have been involuntarily removed this year and record numbers detained, official figures indicate.
He criticised lethal US strikes on suspected drug smugglers off Venezuela, warning violence would fail.
And he has challenged Trumps climate-crisis denial, telling Cop30 that Gods creation is crying out for action.
Organized opposition to Trump among Catholic and other faith groups on the Christian left is spreading at grassroots level.
From New Jersey to California, parish priests and pastors have led local protests, boycotts and initiatives to counter ICEs depredations. Catholics are particularly well positioned to lead such a movement, wrote Maria J Stephan, a specialist in non-violent civil resistance.

(12,560 posts)Unless I've developed multiple personality disorder, the OP wasn't posted by me. I took a shot at correcting, and left the follow up post, but I didn't actually post either. I've changed my password, which has been the same for about 20 years, so....
I'm baffled. Seems a strange thing to post with a hack.

(12,560 posts)It is such an odd thing to have posted -- with detail in the reply to the OP. That's not how people post (at least it's not how I post). Like a strange test balloon. I looked up and found a recent article so I decided to edit the weird OP to make sense.
Anyway, I probably should have just deleted, but somehow deleting without explanation didn't seem right.
What is a bit sad is that I've developed courses on cybersecurity for various corporate clients. I have no excuse for being so lax with my non-financial accounts. As I said, I don't think I've updated my DU password for about 20 years and it was a wimpy password to start with. But I don't actually get what someone would gain by trying to post as me. Like I wouldn't notice??
IDK.
Still baffled in Seattle.

(3,167 posts)i guess change of password seems warranted.
I'm a fan of the pope, one of the few leaders of any kind opposing the hostile takeover of planet earth.

(12,560 posts)I wasn't sure what to do. Delete the OP without explanation? That didn't seem right.
So I just changed my password and edited to be more "me"...
I just don't know what to make of it. A weird, but relatively innocuous post. Perhaps someone taking a shot at posting as "me" to see if they could get away with it?
Or perhaps I did lose my mind.
IDK.
