It was tech stocks and December rate cuts uncertainty.

3. A loss of 800 points used to be a big deal,

but not so much anymore, since it's sitting at 30,000+. I think it fell about 800 points in 1987, and that scared a lot of people. But the market back then was a small fraction of what it is today.
