With this kind of corruption, it's easy to be cynical about politics. But inside every cynic is a wounded idealist. We know, deep down, that it doesn't have to be this way...
It's why we are building the largest grassroots movement Texas has ever seen.
Yes, the system is rigged. Yes, the deck is stacked. But these are man-made systems. And We the People can take them back.

(1,852 posts)I really hope Jasmine Crockett doesnt run for this seat in the primary, because she would be an incredible candidate for Governor.

(12,201 posts)My thought a few days ago was that she's a great campaigner who could give a lot of 2028 candidates a boost, then go for Cruz's seat in 2029.
It would be a serious kick to see her sworn in as the Junior Senator (junior to Talarico) in 2030!!

(1,852 posts)Crockett running for Gov while Talarico runs for Senate would create a huge coattails effect to usher in a brand new progressive majority in the state legislature that could last for generations.

(1,852 posts)I think he is one of the first Democrats in a while (maybe since Bernie?)who has a good shot at winning the majority of white voters in a red state.
